Q: How long is the MAP class?
A: Class is from Tuesday – Thursday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Plan to arrive on Monday and depart on Friday.

A: The MAP training will be at the Embassy Suites by Hilton San Diego Bay Downtown, 601 Pacific Highway, San Diego, CA 92101; (619) 239-2400.
Q: What is the closest airport?
A: The Embassy Suites by Hilton San Diego Hotel is 3 miles from San Diego Bay Downtown International Airport (SAN).
Q: What is the cost?
A: The class is free.
Q: Do I need to register a room at the hotel?
A: Yes. After you register on the SMOHIT website and are approved, you will receive an email with the booking link to the hotel. We will pay only for the nights of the conference (Monday – Thursday nights). If you would like to arrive earlier or stay later, you will need to pay for those rooms separately.
Q: Do i need to bring a credit card or debit card?
A: Yes, a credit or debit card is required to hold the room reservation and at check-in for incidentals charged on the room.
Q: Does SMOHIT pay per diem?
A: No.
Q: Does SMOHIT pay for transportation?
A: No. You, your JATC, or other sponsor are responsible for the cost of travel to and from class.

A: No check-in is necessary. Please be in the meeting room several minutes before 8 a.m. on Tuesday so we can begin on time.

A: We will meet in the Santa Fe room each day.
Q: What food is included?
A: From Tuesday through Thursday, SMOHIT will provide breakfast, lunch, and On Wednesday, the group has dinner at a local restaurant (TBD). Any other food is your responsibility.
Q: What should I wear?
A: We encourage a nice shirt, comfortable pants and closed toe shoes. Dinner on Wednesday is business casual.
Q: What is there a fee for parking?
A: Yes, however, you will receive $15 off the hotel’s current rate of $65. Make sure to tell them you are with the SMART MAP SAN DIEGO event.
