The Workplace Exposure Research Program helps protect workers and their families from diseases related to asbestos and silica exposure by providing testing, guidance, and follow‑up support. The program also gathers valuable data to aid in preventing future exposure-related health issues and to support ongoing research.
SMART building trades and sign installation and fabrication members with more than 10 years of service are eligible to participate.
Our mobile X-ray unit is now traveling to local unions. Select your local below to begin the process and schedule your chest X-ray appointment online. If your local is not listed, please check back.
After receiving your X-ray results, we encourage you to share them with your primary care physician. The Workplace Exposure Program team is here to support you throughout the process. For questions, contact Diane Blackburn, SMOHIT care coordinator, at diane@blackburnconsulting.org or 412-671-6532.
