Hi Zachary,

I just wanted to share with you some of the comments I’m receiving at the start of our STEPS challenge. I know that you are very physically fit and very health conscious. Could you please give me some information that I could share as to your daily regiment? This is a STEPS challenge not biking or using other equipment other than treadmills, elliptical, etc. I don’t want to discourage you from participating but most see you as having super human abilities! Lol

We also do not want to discourage others from participating either. If you could give me a little snapshot of how you accumulate so many steps each day that would help me to show others how this is possible. I have to agree with the calculations below as I also accumulate about 2000 steps per mile. Thanks

Sure no problem, with the kick off of this steps challenge I decided to start off early and strong. At midnight I started a ruck march, which is a forced march with weight in a rucksack or backpack, its something that we did in the military and something that I have kept doing. This morning I started at midnight and went for a 12 mile march it lasted until around 6 I know this seems like a lot but it is actually slow compared to military standards with is 18 miles within 4.5 hours(4 MPH), my average was only 2 MPH most likely because I started it so early. I agree with the roughly 2000 steps per mile which is the average but when you add weight, I very between 30 to 60 LBS depending on what I am wanting to achieve, you have to shorten your steps to keep your balance in check which at least doubles your steps per mile. This is a great workout as it keeps working all day long, if anyone wants more information on it I would suggest that they check out WWW.GORUCK.COM this is a veteran owned company and they put on these types of challenges and it explains the benefits to rucking.

There is nothing superhuman about it lol thank you for your time and thank you for all that you do for us.
