Tool & Equipment Safety

Preventing construction trade accidents and injuries is of vital importance to the sheet metal industry. Operators of tools and equipment must recognize and understand the hazards related to the use of each tool or piece of equipment. Understanding how a tool or piece of equipment can cause an injury is just as important as understanding how it operates. Training is one of the best preventative measures when it comes to this subject.

This program reviews tools commonly used in sheet metal fabrication shops, the purpose and hazards of these tools, and easy-to-understand “how to” videos demonstrating the correct use of each tool. It also features a module on general safety that includes topics such as keeping the work area clean, staying alert and paying attention, using the right tool for the right job, and wearing appropriate PPE.
