Your safety, health, and wellness is our number one mission. Every year, we work to innovate and provide offerings that help make your job—and your life—better. I’m excited to announce that in 2018 we are introducing a campaign to help guide our members to optimal wellness. The Campaign is: “New Me. Know Me.”
“New Me. Know Me.” is designed to:
1. Improve member health and well-being;
2. Encourage and support members in shifting to healthier lifestyles they may desire;
3. Encourage members to put safety first to avoid injuries; and
4. Enhance the connection between workplace hazard exposures and how your health and wellness is a key to enhancing work practices
The campaign will launch across all locals to support and engage members to begin their health journey. Here’s what you need to know to start…
Four optional programs will be introduced from which members can select that will run in 8-week increments each.
The first program, “Know Me. Know My Numbers.” will help guide you to know and understand important health numbers, including your blood pressure and cholesterol levels through assessments and screenings.
After you find out your health numbers, the second program, “Challenge Me.” will provide supports to assist you in your health journey, including exercise and food consumption.
“Safe Me.” the third program to roll-out, will enhance the Sheet Metal Occupational Health Institute Trust’s efforts to minimize on the job injuries by sharing the latest in job safety protocols.
Finally, the fourth program, “Calm Me.” will educate on stress drivers and assist members with techniques and tools to lower stress levels for improved health.
To encourage a healthier lifestyle, each program will have a point value, in which members are awarded 25 points for the completion of each program. By years-end, those who have completed all four programs will earn 100 points and be eligible for additional prizes and recognition.
